Justin Symanowitz

Justin Symanowitz has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies. Justin began their career at Appleton Securities as a Financial Analyst in 1997 and worked there until 2002. Following this, they joined The Cyest Corporation as a Consultant from 2002 to 2006. From 2006 to 2008, they worked as a Consultant at IQbusiness South Africa. In 2009, they joined SA Taxi as a Treasury Analyst and stayed with the company until 2012. Justin then worked at Transaction Capital Limited as part of the Risk Management team from 2012 to 2013. Justin joined Bayport Financial Services in 2013 as a Business Knowledge Manager and worked there until 2015. From 2015 to 2018, they worked at Barclays Africa Group Limited, initially as part of the Stress Testing Group function and then as a Quantitative Analyst in the Corporate and Investment Banking division. Currently, Justin is the Head of Analytics: Insurance at SA Taxi, a position they have held since 2019.

Justin Symanowitz earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of the Witwatersrand between 1993 and 1995. In 1996, they obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Management from Wits Business School. Justin then pursued a Master's degree in Financial Economics at the University of Johannesburg, which they completed from 2007 to 2009.

To further enhance their skills and knowledge, Justin obtained several certificates. In 1999, they received a Certificate in Mathematical Modelling of Derivatives from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika. In 2010, they obtained a Certificate in Operations Research Methods from the University of the Witwatersrand.

Additionally, Justin has achieved two professional certifications. In 2002, they became a Chartered Financial Analyst through the CFA Institute. Justin also holds the Professional Risk Manager certification from PRMIA - Professional Risk Managers' International Association, which they obtained in 2016.
