Phumzile Nwaila

Phumzile Nwaila has a diverse work experience in various roles. From 2017, they worked at SA Taxi as a Senior GIS Analyst, where they were responsible for ensuring accurate and presentable dashboards for informed business decisions. Prior to that, in 2016, they worked at ADT as a GIS Analyst, managing spatial and attribute data and creating maps based on project requirements. In 2015, they worked as a Unit Manager at MGC Group, advising mining firms on environmental, social, and governance issues. Their earliest work experience was at Nedbank, where they worked as a GIS Analyst from 2011 to 2015, sourcing and capturing data in different databases.

Phumzile Nwaila completed a Bachelor of Science in Geology and Geography from the University of Johannesburg from 2007 to 2009. Following this, they pursued a BSc Honours in Geography at the same university in 2010. From 2014 to 2020, Phumzile attended the University of Cape Town, where they obtained an MPhil specializing in SMRD (Sustainability Studies).
