Sahel Alakel possesses a strong background in engineering and leadership, currently serving as a Little Sib at Project1932, which empowers emerging leaders in Saudi Arabia through mentorship. Since February 2018, Sahel has been a Young SABIC Professionals Leader at SABIC, where efforts focus on enhancing community life at the Research Center at KAUST, along with acting as a TED program ambassador to support new hires in the Technology and Innovation division. Sahel's technical expertise as a Research Engineer II involves researching advanced polymers and materials science, previously holding a position as Research Engineer I specializing in nano and adaptive materials. With a solid foundation in academia as a co-founder of the SABIC Scholar's Council and as an undergraduate teaching assistant at the University of Kansas, Sahel earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and is pursuing a Master of Science in Materials Sciences at KAUST.
