Selwa Shamy

Selwa Shamy currently serves as the Deputy Director and Chief Public Services Officer at Sacramento Public Library since November 2025. Prior to this role, Selwa was the Assistant Director at Montclair Public Library from December 2018 to September 2025, and previously held various positions at Somerset County Library System of New Jersey, including Support Services Manager and Head of Adult Services at North Plainfield Library. Selwa has extensive experience in managing customer service delivery, programming, and budget preparation, having supervised staff and collaborated with colleagues to serve over 180,000 residents. Selwa holds a Master of Library Science from Rutgers School of Communication, Information & Library Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Delaware.
