Srinivasa Srinath

Dr. Srinivasa, Managing Director, CGN Global, began his Caterpillar career in 1987 with the Engine Division where most of his work career was in fuel systems, diesel engines, and construction and mining machines, giving Dr. Srinath broad and deep exposure to commercial vehicles, including on-road trucks and off-road machines.

Dr. Srinath then worked in an internal consulting group for five years. During this tenure, he helped develop the Six Sigma methodology and implementation plans across Caterpillar. He worked in Human Resources and several Caterpillar business units and dealers to develop and implement business, technology, and product strategies. He then worked closely with the Chairman/CEO and the Strategic Planning Committee to help develop Caterpillar’s updated strategy, Vision 2020, and implement it across the enterprise.

Dr. Srinath was a Caterpillar Key Executive for the University of Michigan and serves on the Industry Advisory Committee for the Aerospace Department.

Dr. Srinath joined SAE International in 1988 and has served on the SAE Board of Directors (2014-2016), Finance Committee (2016-2019), Executive Nominating Committee, and the COMVEC Executive Council.

Dr. Srinath holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Madras. He came to the US to get his PhD in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan in 1985, followed by two years of post-doctoral research and teaching experience.
