Anthony Gacanja

Anthony Gacanja is a seasoned IT professional with extensive experience in information technology strategy, cybersecurity, and risk management. Currently serving as the Director at Safaricom PLC, Anthony previously held the position of Director of Information Technology at the Central Bank of Kenya, where responsibilities included overseeing IT strategy in collaboration with executive leadership. With a notable background at Safaricom Limited, Anthony advanced from Senior Information Security Officer to Head of Department for Technology Security, driving significant cybersecurity initiatives and compliance efforts. Earlier experience includes a managerial role at Ernst & Young in Technology & Security Risk Services and experience as an Application Systems Developer at Software Technologies Limited. Anthony holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Nairobi and multiple professional certifications, including CISA, CISM, PMP, and PRINCE2.
