Lisa Barham, an experienced Foster Parent Recruiter at SAFY of America since March 2017, specializes in recruiting and training new foster parents, community outreach, local networking, and event planning. As an author, Lisa has been self-publishing teen fiction and Judeo-Christian teen fiction under the nom-de-plume Anna York since January 2012. Additionally, Lisa founded Ugly Babies in November 2004, initially creating dolls for charity and managing the business until burnout led to a hiatus. Since November 2013, Lisa has served as a Municipal Liaison for National Novel Writing Month, coordinating activities to support novelists. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in School Psychology and a Master of Science in Developmental and Child Psychology from the University of Phoenix, complemented by a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The Ohio State University.

At Specialized Alternatives for Families and Youth (SAFY®), we work with youth and families to reach their full potential, building the foundation of well-being we all need to contribute to our communities. Our model of care includes family preservation, reunification, behavioral health, and, when needed, foster care. This solid structure offers the tools to develop and maintain stable mental, physical, and emotional foundations to weather the storms where they are – home, school, work, or community.
