Sean Kelly

Sean Kelly has extensive experience in engineering and leadership roles. Sean is currently the Vice President of Engineering at Saga Education since October 2020. Prior to that, they served as the VP of Engineering at Woot Tutor from July 2019 to October 2020. From 2013 to 2020, Sean was the VP Engineering & Co-Founder of Woot Math (Simbulus, Inc.), where they demonstrated their abilities in product and technology leadership. Before that, they gained experience at Disney Interactive as the Director of Engineering from October 2012 to February 2013, Senior Engineering Manager from November 2011 to November 2012, and Senior Staff Software Engineer from January 2009 to November 2011. Sean also worked at Xilinx as a Staff Software Engineer from 2004 to 2009, where they focused on designing compiler technologies. Sean started their career as a Research Faculty at the University of Colorado from January 2003 to March 2004, specializing in analysis software and data analysis for nuclear physics experiments. Additionally, Sean worked as a Research Faculty at Columbia University from January 2000 to March 2003, where they focused on designing and implementing distributed data acquisition and event assembly technology for nuclear physics experiments.

Sean Kelly earned a PhD in Physics from UCLA from 1995 to 2000. Prior to that, they completed a BS/BA in Physics and Applied Mathematics from UC San Diego from 1988 to 1994.
