Ali Alagheband

Ali Alagheband has served as a Partner at Sagard and a member of the Sagard Healthcare Royalty Partners team since 2019. Ali is responsible for overseeing Sagard’s healthcare royalties strategy to invest in approved and commercialized biopharmaceuticals, diagnostics, and medical devices that are protected by strong intellectual property. Alongside David MacNaughtan and Raja Manchanda, he co-leads the Sagard Healthcare Royalty Partners team in their management of the investment process, including origination, due diligence, execution, and portfolio management. Ali is a member of the Sagard Healthcare Royalty Partners investment committee and is based in Toronto, Canada. Ali has known David for over 15 years and worked with him at DRI Capital for 7 years. He has known Raja and worked with him at DRI Capital for over a decade.

Prior to Sagard, Ali was a Managing Director and a member of the investment committee at DRI Capital, a healthcare royalty monetization firm in Toronto, Canada. Ali has over 16 years of healthcare investing experience focused on public equities and royalty-based opportunities.

Ali holds a B.A. in Physics (Honors) from Reed College, a B.Sc. in Engineering and Applied Science (Honors) from the California Institute of Technology, a M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a Master in Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario, Richard Ivey School of Business.
