Aurora Kerr

Head of HR at Sage Gateshead

Aurora Kerr is the current Head of HR at Sage Gateshead. Aurora has also worked as an HR Business Partner for the Civil Service from November 2018 to October 2019. In their role as an HR Business Partner, they were responsible for all aspects of Human Resources across the north east, supporting 278 staff. Aurora also led on the implementation of a new initiative to utilise research in to people analytics to create an attendance management strategy with recommendations which has been signed off by the board and seen a reduction in AWDL. Additionally, they worked on people surveys to identify areas to improve employee engagement and lead a team in relation to wellbeing at work.

Kerr has also been responsible for embedding performance management procedures to enhance team productivity and utilising their expertise to deliver guidance and support resulting in solutions to address both high performance and poor performance. Aurora has also delivered Talent Manager by creating a succession plan to secure a strong talent pipeline. In addition, they have supported the recruitment process by creating robust recruitment strategies at all levels of the business and promoted staff motivation and retention, monitored employee satisfaction results and action plans, supported, coached, advised and directed managers in the management of their people. Finally, they developed and implemented a Training Plan for all functions to deliver the Business Plan.

Aurora Kerr has a certificate in human resource management from CIPD qualifications, a level 7 people management and development from CIPD qualifications, a postgraduate certificate in employment law from Open University UK, a bachelor of laws - LLB from University of Northumbria, and A levels in A and 2 C's from Tynemouth College.

They work with Sara Vening - Director, Finance, Anna Eyres - Head of Conference and Events, and Lindsay Tuck - COO. Aurora Kerr reports to Martin Narey, Chairman.
