David R. Currie

Mr. Currie brings over 30 years of technology, entrepreneurship, and executive management experience ranging from seed stage startups to large public enterprises. He’s been a founder, investor, board member, and advisor for several successful startups resulting in multiple high-value exit scenarios. He has performed well in challenging domestic and international business environments and proven his skillsets in general management, financial management, fundraising, corporate structuring/development, governance, technology/product, and market development.

In a board, investor, or advisory capacity, David is presently supporting a range of business application, healthcare IT, healthcare devices, and real-estate technology companies.

Previously, Mr. Currie served as a founder or senior executive for multiple startups leading to successful, high value exits. These include ScanAlert (acquired by McAfee), and Etera Systems (IPO as Corio), CenterView (acquired by Informix), and The Application Group (acquired by ADP). As CIO he reengineered 90% of the business systems for Neopost. Additionally, he served as a consulting technology officer and chief architect for the International Finance Corporation (World Bank) to create the SME Toolkit project. There he led emerging market technology teams in Eastern Europe, the Balkans, India and Indonesia.

Mr. Currie earned his bachelor of arts, magna cum laude, with an interdisciplinary degree in Business, Design and Industry, in June of 1987 from San Francisco State University. He’s also served on non-profit boards including The Marin School (treasurer 2009 – 2013), and San Francisco Pride Celebration Committee (treasurer/director from 2012- 2015). Father of two, he lives in San Francisco and enjoys tennis, skiing, mountaineering, running, and preparing his kids for life.
