Account Director - Market Access at Sage Therapeutics

David Peed has over 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on market access and account management. David is currently working as an Account Director at Sage Therapeutics since June 2021. Prior to this, they served as a National Account Director at Chiesi USA, Inc. from October 2020 to May 2021.

From 2018 to 2020, David worked as a Director of National Payer and IDN Accounts at Sage Therapeutics. In this role, they collaborated with payers and IDN accounts to create and implement medical policies and treatment protocols for a newly approved infusion product. David also developed and led the implementation of account plans and strategies for key accounts, and led cross-functional account teams to ensure the successful launch of the product.

Before joining Sage Therapeutics, David held various roles at Merck from 1990 to 2017. These included Associate Director/National Account Executive for Integrated Health Systems from 2003 to 2017, where they directed account strategy for integrated delivery systems and federal accounts in the Southeast region. David also served as a National Account Executive for HMO accounts from 1998 to 2003, where they directed strategy and contracting negotiations for all HMO accounts in North and South Carolina.

David also had a fellowship at MSD Wellcome Trust Hilleman Laboratories Pvt. Ltd. in 2015 where they provided strategies for long-term sustainability in a nonprofit vaccine research and development organization based in India. Additionally, they started their career at Merck in 1990 as a Business Manager in Field Sales and held various sales and development roles.

Overall, David Peed has a strong background in market access, account management, and cross-functional team leadership in the pharmaceutical industry.

David Peed received their Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from Clemson University. David attended the university from 1981 to 1984. Additionally, they obtained a certification in CMCE (Certified Managed Care Executive) from the American Association of Health Plans in June 2002.
