Jason Johannesen has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and industries. Jason started their career as a Staff Psychologist at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System in October 2009 and held this position until June 2019. Concurrently, they began working at Yale University School of Medicine in October 2009 as a Clinical Assistant Professor, later transitioning to Assistant Professor in December 2010. From December 2017 to June 2019, Jason served as a Clinical Research Scientist at Yale University. In June 2019, they joined Sage Therapeutics as a Principal Medical Scientist and was later promoted to Senior Principal Scientist, Translational Medicine in March 2022. Jason Johannesen's education history begins with earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Biology from the University of Oregon. Following this, they attended Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis and obtained a Master of Science degree in Clinical Rehabilitation Psychology from 2000 to 2003. Jason further pursued their education at the same institution and completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Clinical Rehabilitation Psychology from 2004 to 2007. Later on, they attended Yale University School of Medicine as a NIMH T32 Post-Doctoral Fellow in Clinical Rehabilitation Psychology from 2007 to 2009.
