Lavanya Kokkula

Lavanya Kokkula has held various roles throughout their work experience. Lavanya is currently working at Sage Therapeutics as a Senior Director, Analytical and QC since December 2022. Prior to this role, they had served as a Director from November 2020 to December 2022, and as an Associate Director from June 2018 to November 2020.

Before joining Sage Therapeutics, Lavanya worked at Johnson Matthey Pharma Services Inc. Lavanya held the position of Analytical Senior Scientist (Analytical Development) from April 2016 to June 2018. In this role, they led a team of 10+ scientists and oversaw commercial product development activities. Lavanya also played a lead role in analytical sciences for generics product development. Earlier, they worked as an Analytical Staff Scientist from April 2014 to March 2016, where they provided Method Development and Validation services and contributed to the launch of a generic product. Lavanya started their journey at Johnson Matthey Pharma Services Inc. as an Analytical Scientist in February 2012 and worked until March 2014.

Prior to their tenure at Johnson Matthey Pharma Services Inc., they worked at Albany Molecular Research Inc. as a Research Scientist II from January 2011 to February 2012 and as a Research Scientist I from June 2008 to December 2010. Lavanya also had an internship experience at The Burnham Institute as an Intern from June 2007 to February 2008. Lavanya began their career as a QC Chemist at Gulf Oil Corporation Limited from January 2006 to February 2007.

Lavanya Kokkula started their education at Osmania University in 2000, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, and Computer Applications. Lavanya completed this degree in 2003. Following that, they continued their studies at Osmania University and obtained a Masters degree in Biochemistry, graduating in 2005.

In terms of additional certifications, Lavanya obtained several certificates from LinkedIn. In September 2020, they achieved a certification in Learning Personal Branding. In August 2020, they received a certification in Supply Chain Foundations. Moreover, in July 2020, they obtained a certification in Communicating about Culturally Sensitive Issues.
