Mike Witte has over 30 years of experience in the field of clinical research and medical affairs. Mike is currently serving as the Senior Medical Director, Lifecycle Management, Medical Affairs at Sage Therapeutics, starting in July 2022. In this role, they are responsible for developing and executing the US product medical strategy, supporting launch activities, and managing the lifecycle of products.
Prior to their current position, Mike worked at Eli Lilly and Company for over 20 years. Mike held various roles including Director of Clinical Research, Principal Clinical Research Scientist, and Senior Clinical Research Scientist. During their time at Lilly, they contributed to the development of scientific evidence, conducted Phase 3B/4 clinical trials, and authored regulatory documents and scientific manuscripts.
Mike also had a short-term assignment at Lilly France as a Senior Clinical Research Scientist, where they served as the Medical Lead in Neuroscience for Lilly France. Mike was involved in a range of medical affairs activities, including thought leader management, clinical trial support, medical education, and regulatory agency interactions.
Before transitioning to the pharmaceutical industry, Mike worked as an Assistant Professor at Indiana University Medical School from 1999 to 2001 and at the University of Tennessee, Memphis from 1990 to 1999.
Mike Witte completed their education at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine from 1983 to 1990, where they earned a PhD in Biochemistry. Prior to that, they attended Purdue University from 1979 to 1983 and obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Microbiology, General. Mike Witte's earliest education history is from Richmond High School, although specific dates and degrees earned are not provided.
