Wayne Deats

Wayne Deats has extensive work experience in the field of toxicology. Wayne currently holds the position of Principal Scientist at Sage Therapeutics, which they started in September 2019. Prior to that, they worked at ImmunoGen, Inc. as a Scientist III from July 2017 to July 2019. Before that, they had various roles at Retrophin, including Principal Scientist, Senior Scientist, and Senior Project Toxicologist, from June 2014 to July 2017. Wayne also worked at Ironwood Pharmaceuticals as a Preclinical Study Manager from July 2006 to June 2014. Their earlier experience includes working as an Associate Study Director and Group Leader/Research Associate at MPI Research from May 1999 to July 2006.

Wayne Deats holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biomedical Sciences, which they obtained from Western Michigan University between 1997 and 1999. Wayne then pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Pharmacology and Toxicology from Michigan State University, which they completed between 2012 and 2017. Wayne also received additional certification as a Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology from the American Board of Toxicology, Inc. in November 2015.
