Tom Watson

Tom Watson has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Tom currently holds the position of Chief Information Officer (CIO) and EVP Operations at SageNet, a provider of managed solutions for digital signage, connectivity, IoT, and Security. In this role, they are responsible for all technical operations, including Operations, NOC, Field OPS, Engineering, Service Delivery, Core Apps, Web Apps, Infrastructure, and PMO. Notable accomplishments include implementing ServiceNow to unify operations on one service management platform.

Prior to SageNet, Tom worked at Williams Company, where they served as the Director of Infrastructure Operations from 2011 to 2018. In this capacity, they were responsible for IT operations and infrastructure through an outsourced operations model, managing a team of over 200 and exceeding service level targets for uptime while reducing Sev 1 outages.

Before their time at Williams Company, Tom was the CIO and Chief Network Operations Officer at Usee Inc, a video and VoIP start-up, from 2009 to 2011. Tom was responsible for planning IT infrastructure, network engineering, and technical operations. However, due to Usee's lack of stable funding, Tom worked as an independent consultant during this period, taking on roles such as Sr Consultant and Program Manager in various industries.

Prior to Usee Inc, Tom held the position of VP Technology and Network at ILD Telecommunications from 2006 to 2009. In this role, they were responsible for all IT and Network operations for outsourced technical, network, and billing services.

Earlier in their career, Tom served as the CIO and VP Global Operations at Somera, where they led production, technical, warehouse, and logistics operations. Tom also worked as the VP Engineering and Systems at Masergy, where they were responsible for network engineering and IT technical operations.

Tom's career began at KSolutions, where they worked as a Principal and played a crucial role in developing and implementing knowledge management, business intelligence, and supply chain management solutions for Fortune 500 clients. Tom also led the development of a HIPAA-compliant healthcare audit management solution for a healthcare group.

Tom Watson received their Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point, where they studied from 1973 to 1977. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Systems Management at the University of Southern California from 1979 to 1981. In 1981 to 1982, they attended the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology to earn a Professional degree in Electrical Engineering. In addition to their formal education, Tom Watson obtained the ITILv3 Foundation certification from the ITIL Certified institution in June 2010.
