Jason Hood

Jason Hood has a diverse range of work experience in various roles. Jason started their career at Lennox International as an IESG Developer and was responsible for designing and developing web-based knowledge management solutions. Jason also worked on desktop and laptop hardware maintenance and software configuration.

After that, they founded Praxis Web Consulting, where they served as a Consultant/Owner. In this role, they provided powerful solutions to clients across different industries, conducted training sessions, and developed courseware for technology classes.

Following that, they worked at BASF - The Chemical Company as a Sr. Intranet Application Developer. Jason focused on Oracle package authoring and tuning, n-tier application development, and migration of customer-facing solutions.

Later, they joined BÖWE BELL & HOWELL as a Sr. Systems Consultant, where they defined strategies, best practices, and standards for field service automation tools. Jason also led the development of a corporate extranet.

Jason then worked at Quintiles as a Global IT Architect, aligning application architecture with business requirements, developing proof of concepts, and spearheading the development of enterprise-level interoperability tools.

After that, they worked at Small Footprint, Inc. as an Engagement Manager. Jason led consulting engagements, gathered client requirements, designed enterprise solutions, and directed project teams.

Jason then joined Railinc as an Architect and played a key role in maximizing the quality and minimizing the cost and time of delivering business-driven solutions. Jason designed a multi-platform mobile integration and delivery solution.

Jason then moved on to BB&T as a Distinguished Technologist | Enterprise API Architect. In this role, they built the API practice from the ground up, defined standards and governance, and collaborated with IT and business to increase customer engagement.

Most recently, they were employed at Mr. Cooper as the VP of Software Development, Digital, API Platform, and Integrations. Jason was responsible for building the architecture, integration, and automation practices for the servicing arm of Mr. Cooper, focusing on breaking down silos, drafting new standards, and evolving agile practices.

Currently, they are the Chief Architect at Sagent, leading the architectural aspects of the company.

Jason Hood attended The University of Texas at Dallas from 1994 to 2000, where they studied Management Information Systems. Jason did not obtain a degree during this time. In addition to their education, Jason has obtained several certifications. In 2013, they became a Certified Scrum Master through the Scrum Alliance. Jason furthered their knowledge in 2022 by completing a certification in Compassionate Leadership from LinkedIn. Most recently, in January 2023, Jason obtained a certification in Cloud Architecture: Advanced Concepts, also through LinkedIn.
