Sam Zhao

Sam Zhao has a diverse work experience in various tech companies. Sam currently holds the position of Vice President - MENA Initiative at SAIF Partners since May 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Product Owner at Binance from February 2023 to September 2023.

Before joining SAIF Partners and Binance, Sam worked at Ant Group, starting in October 2020 as a Product Manager. During their time at Ant Group, they were responsible for the development and expansion of Alipay skin, increasing users from millions to more than 10 million. Sam also led a team to build a real-time smart reminder in Alipay. Additionally, Sam interned as a Product Summer Intern at Ant Group from July 2020 to September 2020.

Sam also gained experience at Xiaomi Technology as an International Product Manager Intern from October 2018 to February 2019. Their responsibilities included market analysis and user experience research for global mobile markets.

Furthermore, Sam interned at Amazon as a Vendor Manager Intern (Kindle) from June 2017 to September 2017. In this role, they contributed to the increase in ebook sales and enhanced activation through a business plan. Sam also worked with the Business Intelligence Team to estimate quarterly sales and automated workflows to save working hours.

Sam Zhao has a Master of Science - Merit degree in Advanced Computing from Imperial College London, earned from 2019 to 2020. Prior to that, Sam earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Nottingham, from 2014 to 2018. During the same period, Sam also obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from The University of Nottingham Ningbo China. Additionally, Sam has a WSET Level 2 certification from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust, obtained in 2020.
