Darek Newby

Darek Newby is currently serving as the Sr. Director of Government Affairs for Homeland Security at Saildrone Inc since January 2023. Prior to this, they worked as the Majority Clerk at the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security from January 2019 to December 2022. Darek also held the position of Professional Staff at the House Appropriations Committee from February 2009 to December 2018.

Darek Newby earned their Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Davidson College in the years 1984 to 1988. Darek then pursued a Master's degree in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1991 to 1992. Lastly, they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Plant Science from the University of Delaware during the years 1994 to 1996.
