John Yip

John Yip, MBA, ICD.D, has an extensive work experience in various roles and companies. John is currently serving as the President and CEO of SE Health since 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of President and CEO at Kensington Health from 2017 to 2022. At Kensington, they had responsibilities for strategic and operational leadership in long-term care, hospice, and eye institute services.

Before joining Kensington Health, John worked as the Vice-President of Corporate Services at Health Quality Ontario (HQO) from 2013 to 2015. In this role, they provided leadership in corporate planning, project management, human resources, finance, technology, and facilities.

From 2004 to 2014, John founded and managed Yip Management Services Inc., a consultancy specializing in health and social services management. John engaged with various stakeholders and provided consultancy services.

John also has experience in the retail industry, specifically in multisport retail. John was a former partner at Running Free Sports, Toronto's leading multisport retailer, from 2003 to 2013. John was responsible for strategic planning, special events, and marketing.

Earlier in their career, John worked as a Managing Consultant at CGI from 2001 to 2004 and as a Senior Consultant at Pricewaterhousecoopers Consulting from 1999 to 2001. John started their consulting career as a Consultant at KPMG Consulting from 1998 to 1999.

John Yip, MBA, ICD.D, holds an MBA degree in Health Services Management from McMaster University, which they obtained from 1995 to 1997. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology/International Development Studies at Dalhousie University from 1991 to 1995. In 1989, they successfully completed their high school diploma at Upper Canada College. Additionally, Yip obtained the ICD.D certification in Corporate Governance from the Institute of Corporate Directors in 2018.
