Tricia Swartz has a diverse work experience in healthcare leadership and management roles. Tricia is currently an Accreditation Canada Surveyor, joining the organization in 2023. Prior to this, they worked at SE Health as the VP Operational Excellence, overseeing home care operations in Ontario and focusing on quality, risk management, and operational excellence. Tricia also served as the Regional Director at SE Health, starting in 2021 and ending in 2023. Tricia was the Care Service Coordinator at Jarlette Health Services from 2019 to 2021, where they provided regional leadership and oversight for multiple long-term care facilities. Before that, they were a Senior Program Manager at the Canadian Patient Safety Institute from 2014 to 2019. Tricia also held various roles at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, including Director of Patient Safety, Quality and Risk Management, Manager of In-Patient Rehabilitation Services, and Patient Safety and Accreditation Specialist. Tricia started their career as the Director of Care at Woods Park Care Centre - Specialty Care from 2005 to 2007.
Tricia Swartz holds a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Patient Safety, Quality and Risk Management from the University of Toronto, which they obtained from 2012 to 2013. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Registered Nursing from Ryerson University from 2002 to 2004. Tricia also holds a Registered Nurse degree in Nursing from Georgian College, which they obtained from 1995 to 1998. In addition to their formal education, Tricia has obtained various certifications in areas such as fire safety, healthcare simulation, design thinking, and leadership. Tricia has also completed training programs in clinical risk management and patient safety.
