Therren Wilburn

Therren Wilburn is the current Director of Athletics at Saint Francis High School. Prior to their current position, Wilburn served as the Assistant Director of Athletics at Cathedral Catholic High School from July 2019 to June 2022. In this role, Wilburn provided leadership in the selection, assignment, and evaluation of athletic coaches while also monitoring and distributing information via social media. Therren also chaired and moderated the Coaches Advisory Council, coordinated news stories with the Director of Marketing and Communications, and coordinated logistics to all CCHS athletic events.

From May 2016 to July 2019, Wilburn served as the Director of Athletics at Palo Alto High School. In this role, they were responsible for the overall supervision of the athletic program, including budgeting, scheduling, staffing, and compliance with league and state regulations. Therren also oversaw the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to athletics, as well as the planning and execution of special events such as fundraising activities, Open House, and Dons’ Day.

Wilburn has a long history of working in athletics and is passionate about providing opportunities for student-athletes to excel both on and off the field. Therren is a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion in athletics and has chaired the Cathedral Catholic Black Student Union. Under their leadership, the athletic program at CCHS has seen increased participation from students of all backgrounds.

Therren Wilburn has a Master's Degree in Sport Management from San Jose State University and a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology and Sport Management from the same school. Therren also has a Certification from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace.

They are on a team with Natalie Lai - Director of School Culture & Belonging, Ray Theiratake - Dean of Students, and Larry Steinke - Director of Technology. Their manager is Jason Curtis, President.
