Debbie Long

AVP, Student Financial Services at Saint Martin's University

Financing a college education can be confusing and overwhelmingly stressful. She is passionately committed to working with students and their families to help lighten that stress as much as possible. Understanding the financial process is the first step to this and taking the time to listen, be present, and help educate is so essential. She is blessed to be part of an academic environment whose Benedictine values promote honoring and respecting its students and nurtures the idea of a welcoming and hospitable community. She is fortunate to have the opportunity to share in one of a student’s most influential life experiences.

She have been a part of the Saint Martin’s community for many years. She came to Washington from Southern California as a high school graduate looking for a small private college that allowed for a more personal approach and a deeper connection to faculty, staff, and other students. She met her husband at Saint Martin’s and raised both her children while working and making a life here. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology when Saint Martin’s was still a college (not yet a university) and years later completed the Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology program for her graduate degree.
