Takuya Akiba

Takuya Akiba is a seasoned research scientist with extensive experience in machine learning and computer science. Currently serving as a Research Scientist at Sakana AI since December 2023, Takuya previously held the position of Senior Research Scientist at Stability AI from June to November 2023. Takuya also worked as the VP of ML Infrastructure and Researcher at Preferred Networks, Inc. from July 2016 to March 2022. Additional roles include JST PRESTO Researcher at the Japan Science and Technology Agency, Technology Advisor at AtCoder, Research Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Informatics, and Research Fellow at The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. Takuya's academic background includes a PhD, Master's, and Bachelor's degrees in Computer Science and Information Science, all from The University of Tokyo.
