Thomas Munguya has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering and tutoring. Thomas started their career as a Software Engineer at The Zig, where they contributed to the development of a cloud-based African payroll and HR system. Thomas also worked on writing client and server-side code to turn business requirements into functional software. Thomas then joined Salad and Go as a Software Engineer on a contract under The Zig. Currently, they are working as a freelance Software Engineer at Upwork, building applications for small to medium businesses and individuals. Thomas also works as a tutor, teaching programming in Java, Spring Boot, and design patterns. Additionally, Thomas has experience as a Java Tutor at TECH I.S., where they tutored students and built Java learning curricula. Thomas Munguya pursued their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from The University of Zambia from 2019 to 2021. During the same period, they also attended the Cisco Networking Academy, specializing in Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications. Additionally, Thomas obtained several certifications, including Java (Basic) from HackerRank in July 2022, Spring Cloud Overview, Spring Data Repositories, Spring MVC, Spring Boot and Rest Controllers, Spring Ecosystem and Core, Service Oriented Architecture, Software Design and Architecture, Software Architecture, Design Patterns, and Object Oriented Design from Coursera between 2021 and 2022. Thomas also obtained the CCNAv7-Introduction to Networking certification from the Cisco Networking Academy in July 2020 and the HCIA-Security certification from Huawei in August 2020. Furthermore, Thomas became a member of IEEE through their Student Membership program in March 2021.
