Paul Barter

Paul Barter, PE, currently serves as the Global Director of Business Development at Salas O'Brien, leading initiatives in an international Structural/MEP/FP/Tech engineering firm since 2017. Prior to this role, Paul was the Regional Director for the Chicago office of Pennoni, concentrating on the utility and energy sectors, and served as Senior Vice President for Global High Performance Buildings at Environmental Systems Design, Inc., where Paul led a team during the design of the Jeddah Tower. Earlier in their career, Paul held key leadership positions including founding i5 wireless, LLC, and serving as its CEO before merging with ExteNet Systems. With additional experience as President and CEO of Innovative Building Concepts, and as a project manager and electrical engineer at WMA Consulting Engineers and Skidmore Owings & Merrill LLP, Paul has built a comprehensive background in engineering and business development. Paul holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from The University of Kansas and is currently continuing education at MIT Sloan School of Management.
