Javier Okhuysen began their career in 2005 as an Investment Banking Analyst at Rothschild & Co. Javier then moved to UBS in 2006 as an Investment Banking Associate. In 2008, they joined Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) as a Senior Associate, where they worked to improve infrastructure for the community by drawing on the firm's global capability and applying industrial best practice to enhance operating efficiency. In 2011, they co-founded salauno, where they served as both Co-Founder and Chairman, as well as Co-Founder and Co-CEO. In 2020, they returned to GIP as Principal/Mexico Representative, where they employed an industry-focused investment approach to target infrastructure businesses and assets in the energy, digital, transportation, water and waste sectors.

Javier Okhuysen's education history includes a degree in Industrial Engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana, Ciudad de México, a Private Equity: Investing and Creating Value from The Wharton School, Leadership for Systems Change from Harvard Kennedy School, Scaling Entrepreneurial Ventures from Stanford University Graduate School of Business, and a High School degree from Colegio Vista Hermosa.
