Mercedes D. has worked for a variety of companies since 2014. Mercedes began their career as a Work Study Student at Schreiner University, then moved on to a Summer Intern role at the City of San Antonio. In 2015, Mercedes worked as a Student Admissions Representative at The University of Texas at San Antonio and a Summer Intern at Palo Alto College. Mercedes then returned to the City of San Antonio in 2016 as a Student Intern and Project Intern at Bexar County. From 2017 to 2021, Mercedes worked as an Administrative Office Manager at Go Rio San Antonio Cruises. Most recently, they have been a Human Resources Recruiter at La Familia Cortez Restaurants and is currently a Corporate Human Resources at Salem One.

Mercedes D. attended The University of Texas at San Antonio from 2015 to 2017, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration and Nonprofit Management. Prior to that, they attended Schreiner University from 2013 to 2014, studying Mass Communication/Media Studies.
