Lisa Merriam has over 35 years of experience in marketing, brand strategy and content production. Lisa began their career in 1985 with Empower IT, Inc. where they sold magazine ads to CPG companies. Lisa then moved to The Downey Companies in 1991, where they developed and managed CPG accounts for the scanner data division. In 1995, they launched a new division at The Downey Companies, repackaging proprietary data warehouse technology to new markets. From 1998 to 2000, they were the Marketing Director at E Ink Corporation and the VP Marketing at Cenus. During this time, they also worked at FutureBrand as an Engagement Director, leading consulting engagements and managing global teams of strategists and designers. From 2003 to 2010, they were the President of Brand Strategy and Content Marketing at Merriam Associates. From 2010 to 2012, they were the EVP Strategy at pleOS Agency, LLC, leading brand strategy, verbal identity, and messaging for PleOS clients. From 2012 to 2014, they were the Head of Strategy and Communications at Sales Graphics, combining their deep understanding of sales with their background in brand strategy and content creation. Finally, from 2014 to 2017, they were the Vice President of Member Experience at the Family Office Association, connecting with members to track opportunities, concerns, needs, and priorities.
Lisa Merriam obtained their Bachelor of Business Administration from The George Washington University in 1986, majoring in Business, Radio and Television. Prior to that, they attended Glenbrook North High School from 1978 to 1982. In 2014, they obtained an Advanced Search Engine Marketing Strategies certification from the Tampa SEO Training Academy. Additionally, they were Content Marketing Certified from HubSpot Academy in February 2019.
