Kelly Cannon

Kelly Cannon serves as the Community Engagement Editor at The Salt Lake Tribune since July 2017, leading initiatives to enhance community interactions through authentic listening, accessibility, diversity, and civic reporting. Previously, in the role of News Planner, Kelly coordinated newsroom distribution strategies for stories. Kelly's multifaceted experience includes web management involving social media and content promotion. Prior experience includes serving as the Editor for City Journals, overseeing seven monthly community newspapers, and reporting on K-12 education and local government for The Herald Journal. Kelly's educational background includes a BA in English and Mathematics from Southern Utah University, a BS in English and Cinema Studies from Utah Valley University, and is currently pursuing a Master's in Theology/Theological Studies at Gonzaga University.
