Ted Jenkins

Principal Engineer at SaltStack

Ted Jenkins has over 20 years of work experience in the technology industry. Ted began their career in 1999 as a Senior Technical Writer at emWare. In 2002, they moved to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a Business Analyst, where they created requirements, specs, and user stories for worldwide-use enterprise applications. In 2006, Ted joined Software Technology Group as a Software Developer, where they developed modules for JEE projects. In 2009, they returned to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a Principal Engineer and Sr. Software Engineer, where they developed worldwide-use web applications for the LDS Church's Missionary Department. In 2013, they moved to Domo, Inc. as a Principal Engineer, ruling the web and shunning IE. In 2014, Ted worked at both Vivint Solar as a Software Engineer and atly as the Director of Software Development. In 2018, they joined SaltStack as a Principal Engineer. Most recently, in 2019, Ted began working as a Senior Software Engineer at FamilySearch.

Ted Jenkins attended Brigham Young University from 1994 to 1995, where they obtained a Master's degree in English Language and Literature/Letters. Ted then attended the University of Utah from 1984 to 1990, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English Language and Literature/Letters. Finally, they attended Auburn University from 1995 to 1998, where they studied 18th Century British Literature and Technical Writing.
