Job Summary: Junior Accountant

The Junior Accountant plays a crucial role in the financial operations of the EU organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficient processes. In this position you are responsible for accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger reconciliations. You are reporting to the Finance Manager Europe and assist with financial reporting and provide essential office support. Your organizational skills, attention to detail and proficiency with MS Office/relevant software are essential.

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Accounts Receivable (AR) Management:

    • Handle accounts receivable statements and follow up on outstanding payments.
    • Ensure timely collection of receivables and maintain accurate records.
    • Regular internal reporting and communication on AR status
  • Accounts Payable (AP) Oversight:

    • Manage accounts payable for European entities.
    • Collaborate with shared services for AP entry.
    • Monitor AP email communication and systems.
    • Provide support for AP-related inquiries.
    • Monitor purchasing tool (Precoro) and create occasional orders.
  • General Ledger Management:

    • Perform regular reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
    • Investigate discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
    • Post and process journal entries for all business entities
    • Assist the EU Finance Manager in the monthly financial close.
  • Financial Reporting:

    • Prepare financial statements (e.g., income statements, balance sheets) in compliance with legal and company guidelines.
    • Assist with regulatory filings and (external) reporting requirements.
    • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
  • General Office Support:

    • Provide administrative assistance as needed.
    • Maintain organized financial records and documentation.
  • Additional Projects:

    • Collaborate on other accounting-related tasks and projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (professional education preferred).
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Dutch or other languages is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CPA) are advantageous but not required.
