Piyush Kumar Singhal

Piyush Kumar Singhal has a diverse and extensive work experience. Piyush currently holds the position of Principal Data Scientist at Sam's Club since August 2023. Before that, they worked at Walmart Global Tech as a Staff Data Scientist, where they played a crucial role in enhancing Walmart's supply chain efficiency and managing cloud and application infrastructure for the strategy team. Piyush also has experience as a Senior Software Engineer at Sam's Club, where they worked on greenfield scheduling systems and big data consolidation. Prior to that, they worked at Trimble Transportation as a Lead Data Scientist and Operations Research Specialist, where they published white papers, prototyped a load exchange framework, and developed optimization products. Piyush started their career at E2open as an Application Engineer and Software Engineer, where they led projects and designed algorithms for supply chain networks. Piyush also gained teaching experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Texas at Arlington.

Piyush Kumar Singhal holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Industrial Engineering from The University of Texas at Arlington, which they obtained from 2009 to 2013. Prior to that, they completed their Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering from the same university from 2007 to 2009. Piyush also earned a degree in Industrial Engineering with a focus on Supply Chain from NIT Jalandhar, where they studied from 2003 to 2007. In addition to their academic qualifications, Piyush has obtained the Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals certification from Microsoft in the year 2021.
