Ramakrishna Vedantham

Ramakrishna Vedantham has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies. Ramakrishna is currently serving as a Principal Technical Program Manager - Machine Learning at Samsara since June 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Meta from December 2019 to February 2022, where they held the role of (Staff) Technical Program Manager - Computer Vision. In this role, they led the Live Maps Research Program, focusing on creating virtual 3D maps for Augmented Reality and overseeing various aspects such as leadership, strategy, roadmap creation, and technology transfer. Ramakrishna also drove a cross-org research challenges program to streamline research projects.

Before joining Meta, Ramakrishna worked at Uber as a Senior Technical Program Manager. Ramakrishna held two positions at Uber, serving as a Senior Technical Program Manager - Maps from August 2015 to September 2018, and as a Senior Technical Program Manager - II from September 2018 to October 2019.

Prior to their tenure at Uber, Ramakrishna worked at Microsoft from September 2012 to July 2015. Ramakrishna held the position of Senior Program Manager, Bing Maps & Geospatial, where they contributed to the development of Bing Maps. Additionally, they also served as a Senior Scientist at Microsoft from September 2012 to May 2014.

Ramakrishna's earlier work experience includes their tenure at Nokia, where they worked as a Senior Research Engineer from March 2006 to September 2012. Prior to that, they held the position of Research Engineer from January 2004 to March 2006.

Ramakrishna Vedantham pursued their education in the field of Engineering. From 1992 to 1996, they attended the National Institute of Technology Calicut, where they obtained a B.Tech degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering. Following this, they enrolled at The University of Texas at Dallas from 1999 to 2004 for their Graduate Studies and completed a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
