Wooseung Jang

Wooseung Jang serves as the Executive Vice President and Head of the Big Data Center at Samsung Electronics, where responsibilities include leading a cross-functional organization that encompasses technology, research, and product development related to Samsung Accounts, Big Data Platform, Data-Driven Marketing, Big Data Analytics, and various Data Solutions. Prior to this role, Wooseung Jang held significant positions at Amazon, including Senior Vice President of the Big Data Team, as well as Sr. Principal Research Scientist and Principal Research Scientist focusing on Supply Chain Optimization and Inventory Planning. Academic contributions were made as a Professor of Industrial Engineering at the University of Missouri. Early career experience includes a role as Yield Management Research Scientist at KLA-Tencor. Wooseung Jang earned a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the University of California, Berkeley, a Master's Degree in Operations Research from The University of Texas at Austin, and a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology.
