Byungwoo Lee

Byungwoo Lee is a highly experienced engineering professional currently serving as the Head of Advanced Manufacturing R&D Center at Samsung SDI since February 2023. Prior to this role, Byungwoo held the position of Engineering Manager at Tesla from October 2015 to January 2023, where responsibilities included leading a team in dimensional management and variation analysis of various vehicle systems. Byungwoo's career also includes significant roles at Boeing as a Staff Dimensional Engineer and Advanced Technologist, focusing on manufacturing automation for composite materials, as well as at Vestas as Lead Engineer in Blade R&D and GE Global Research as a Mechanical Engineer. Byungwoo began the career as a Manufacturing Engineer at Samsung Aerospace. Academic qualifications include a BS in Mechanical Design and Production Engineering from Seoul National University, along with both an MS and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan.
