Hyoncheol Kim

HyonCheol Kim is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in battery technology and process development. Currently serving as VP of Equipment Development at Samsung SDI since October 2023, HyonCheol previously held the position of Director of Battery Technology at Eurofins | EAG Laboratories from July 2022 to September 2023, where responsibilities included leading the establishment of a battery testing and reverse engineering lab. Prior to that, HyonCheol was VP of Process Development and General Manager at Dyson from February 2015 to May 2022, overseeing international pilot process development initiatives and integrating data science into battery performance analysis. Earlier experience includes roles at Sakti3, where HyonCheol managed process development and engineering teams, and as a Process Engineer focusing on thin film solid-state battery prototypes. HyonCheol holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, as well as both an MS and BS in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Seoul National University.
