Vern Shrauger

Vern Shrauger is a seasoned expert in research and engineering with extensive experience in advancing technologies across multiple industries. Currently serving as Principal Research Scientist at Samtec Inc since January 2023, Vern previously held the position of Vice President of Product Engineering & Operations at Block Engineering, where the focus was on developing quantum cascade laser components and chemical sensing systems. Vern’s career also includes significant roles such as Chief Technical Officer at iObelisk, LLC, where responsibilities encompassed new product development and rapid prototyping, and Special Projects Manager at Satcon Technology Corporation, overseeing product development for photovoltaic systems. With a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology, Vern has cultivated a diverse skill set in optical, mechanical, and electronic design, as well as operational leadership and technical innovation.
