Jess Touhey is an experienced educator and social service professional specializing in asylum and migration. Currently serving as an Educator in the Asylum & Migration Division at Samusocial Brussels, Jess conducts individual needs assessments, manages cases for 40 residents, and supports the daily operations of the reception centre. Previous experience includes working as a Student Caseworker at the EU Rights Clinic, managing immigration-related cases at the Catholic Centre for Immigrants, and co-founding Capital Welcomes Non-Profit Organization, which focused on supporting newly arrived refugees. Jess holds a Master of Arts in International Migration with Human Rights Law from the Brussels School of International Studies and a Bachelor’s degree in International Development and Globalization from the University of Ottawa.
