Nancy M. Preyor-Johnson

Nancy M. Preyor-Johnson is the Deputy Metro Editor at San Antonio Express-News, overseeing the criminal justice team and managing editorial responsibilities. In addition to this role, Nancy serves as the president of the San Antonio Association of Hispanic Journalists, promoting diversity in local newsrooms. Elected as the NAHJ Region 5 Director in 2023, Nancy represents journalists in Texas and surrounding states. Previous positions include teaching journalism and yearbook at multiple schools and working as an online communications manager at Methodist Healthcare System. Nancy has a Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from the University of Texas at San Antonio, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Texas A&M University-Kingsville. Recognized for excellence in journalism, Nancy was awarded the Star Opinion Writer of the Year in April 2024.
