Dr. Nikki Watkins, LMFT has extensive work experience in the mental health field. Dr. Nikki currently works as a Mental Health Clinician at the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. Prior to this role, they served as the Clinic Director at the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at VVSD, San Diego and Oceanside. Dr. Watkins also worked as the Director at Maple Leaf Counseling Services. Dr. Nikki was previously the Associate Director at the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Veterans Village of San Diego. In addition, Dr. Watkins has held teaching positions as a Faculty Associate and Adjunct Professor at Bethel Seminary San Diego and as an Adjunct Professor at Southern California Seminary. Dr. Nikki also gained experience as an Administrator at Telecare Corporation. Dr. Watkins began their career at the San Diego Rescue Mission, where they held various roles including VP of Clinical Programs, Case Manager, Social Worker, and Therapist.

Dr. Nikki Watkins, LMFT has a diverse educational background. Dr. Nikki started their education at San Diego City College from 1992 to 1993, where they obtained an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies. Following this, they attended San Diego State University from 1993 to 1995, earning a Bachelor's degree in Journalism.

In pursuit of further education, Dr. Watkins enrolled at Southern California Seminary from 2005 to 2008, achieving a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology. Subsequently, they pursued a Master's degree in Religion/Religious Studies from the same university, completing their studies in 2009.

Dr. Watkins continued their educational journey at Southern California Seminary from 2010 to 2015, culminating in the completion of a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree in Clinical Psychology.

With this comprehensive educational foundation, Dr. Nikki Watkins has equipped herself with expertise in various fields, including clinical psychology, counseling psychology, religion/religious studies, and journalism.
