Rene Torres

Rene Torres is a skilled GIS professional with a strong background in distribution design and geographic information systems. Currently serving as a Distribution Designer II at San Diego Gas & Electric since August 2018, Rene's previous roles include Distribution Designer, Electric GIS Technician II, and Electric GIS Technician. Prior experience includes working as a GIS Technician onsite at a major tech company with Apex Systems, and as a GIS Technician with Evari GIS Consulting, Inc. Additionally, Rene contributed to map digitization and organization as a Map Library GIS Student Assistant at California State University, Northridge, and engaged in interdisciplinary research as a LAKES REU Intern with the National Science Foundation. Rene holds a degree in Geography with a focus on GIS and Sustainability from California State University, Northridge, and completed studies at Cuyamaca College.
