Kristen Turner

Director, Communications, Content & Digital Strategies at San Diego Symphony

Kristen Turner is the Director of Communications, Content & Digital Strategies at the San Diego Symphony. Kristen previously worked as the Communications Manager at the Dallas Symphony Orchestra from August 2018 to September 2021. Prior to that, they were a voice and piano instructor at Vivaldi Music Academy from January 2016 to September 2016. Kristen also worked as the Administrative and Publicity Manager at Apollo Chamber Players from August 2017 to August 2018. Kristen began their career as a voice instructor at Songbird Studios from October 2014 to September 2015.

Kristen holds a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from The San Francisco Conservatory of Music and a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Northern Arizona University. Specializing in Opera and Classical voice, Kristen continues to perform throughout the Bay Area and beyond. As a teacher, they believe that good vocal technique is transferable to all genres and has taught many other styles including jazz, musical theater, and contemporary. Her favorite part of teaching is tailoring vocal technique to each and every student so that they may learn to trust their own true voice!

When they are not singing or teaching, Kristen enjoys hanging out with friends, going to see the latest rom-com at the movies, and adventuring throughout the Bay Area in search of even more artistic inspiration.

Kristen Turner began their educational career by earning a Bachelor of Music in Voice and Opera from Northern Arizona University. Kristen then went on to earn a Master of Music in Voice and Opera from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Finally, they earned a Master of Arts in Arts Leadership from the University of Houston.

Kristen Turner reports to Craig Hall, VP for Marketing & Communications. They are on a team with and J.D. Smith - Director of Marketing and Sales Technology.
