Karina Castellanos

Karina Castellanos, SHRM-CP, currently serves as the Human Resource Services Supervisor at San Diego Unified School District, a position held since January 2020, and has also worked as a Human Resources Analyst and Confidential Secretary III within the Human Resources Department. Prior experience includes serving as the Community Outreach & Engagement Director at Connecting Families Resource Center, and as a Program Coordinator at the South Bay Family YMCA. Karina also has international experience as an English Teacher for the YMCA of Madrid. Additional roles include Recreational Coach for the City of Chula Vista and intern for State Senator Denise Moreno Ducheny. Karina holds a Bachelor's degree in Multi/Interdisciplinary Studies and a minor in International/Global Studies from San Diego State University, as well as an Associate's degree in Political Science and Government from Southwestern Community College District. Furthermore, study abroad experiences include language and service learning programs in China.
