Shon Buford

Shon Buford has extensive experience in public service and leadership within the San Francisco Fire Department since June 1993, currently serving as Assistant Deputy Chief in the Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and as a Fire Captain overseeing the Emergency Water Firefighting System. Buford previously held various leadership roles in the San Francisco Fire Fighters, Local #798, including President from 2019 to 2022, and has also contributed as a delegate for the California Democratic Party. Early career experience includes a para-professional role with the San Francisco Unified School District, focusing on youth engagement. Shon Buford holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of San Francisco and an Associate of Arts degree from City College of San Francisco.
