Crystal Garcia has a diverse work experience in compliance and oversight roles. Crystal began their career in 1997 as an Operations Lead at Regence BlueCross BlueShield and later became a Fraud Investigator. In 2009, they joined Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation as a Compliance Auditor. Crystal then moved on to Alameda Alliance for Health as a Compliance Program Manager in 2012. In 2014, they joined San Francisco Health Plan, where they first held the position of Senior Manager, Compliance and Oversight before being promoted to Director in 2023. Crystal also has experience outside of the healthcare industry, having served as the Sponsorship Chair at Salt City Derby Girls LLC.
Crystal Garcia obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration from the University of Phoenix, where they studied from 2004 to 2008. Crystal also holds certifications in Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from Lean Six Sigma Butler Active Business Solutions (obtained in 2017), Certified in Healthcare Compliance from the Health Care Compliance Association (obtained in December 2012), and Certified Professional Coder from the American Academy of Professional Coders (obtained in February 2005).
