Cheryl Ewers

Cheryl Ewers currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer for the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art since January 2025. Prior to this role, Ewers held the same position at Catholic Charities SF from October 2019 to December 2024, overseeing financial strategy for a $65 million non-profit organization while managing multiple departments. Ewers also worked as the Director of Finance and Operations at Children's Day School (2016 - October 2019), and held various vice president roles at Cengage Learning from 2008 to 2015, where Ewers led financial planning and analysis during a major organizational transformation. Earlier experience includes senior finance roles at Thomson Learning and Chevron, and initial work as a Commercial Lending Officer at Comerica Bank. Ewers holds an M.B.A. with an emphasis in Corporate and International Finance from the University of Michigan's Stephen M. Ross School of Business, along with a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from the same institution.
