Director Of Crime Strategies at San Francisco Police Department (SFPD)

Ryan Kao has a diverse background in law enforcement and legal practice. Ryan began their career as a student at UCLA School of Law, where they gained a strong foundation in legal studies. After graduating, Ryan joined the San Francisco District Attorney's Office in 2013 as an Assistant District Attorney. In this role, they gained experience and expertise in criminal law. Ryan also held a brief position as a Post-Bar Fellow at the same office before continuing their tenure as an Assistant District Attorney. Ryan's dedication and hard work led him to be appointed as the Director of Crime Strategies at the San Francisco Police Department in 2022. In this role, they are responsible for developing and implementing effective strategies to combat crime in the city. Through their work experience, Ryan has demonstrated their commitment to justice and public safety.

Ryan Kao attended Amherst College from 2004 to 2008, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with Cum Laude honors. Their major was Law, Jurisprudence, and Social Thought. Following their undergraduate studies, Ryan joined the University of California, Los Angeles - School of Law in 2010 and graduated in 2013. Ryan obtained a Juris Doctor degree with a specialization in Public Interest Law and Policy.
