Richard “Rocky” Fried is a managing member and the head of the real estate group at Farallon Capital Management, which he joined in 1995. Previously, he was a vice president in acquisitions for Security Capital Industrial Trust (now Prologis), a real estate investment trust specializing in industrial properties. From 1990 to 1993, Rocky was an associate in capital markets at JMB Realty Corporation. He has served on the board of directors for Hudson Pacific Properties (NYSE: HPP) since its IPO in 2010 and on the board of the Boys and Girls Club of San Francisco (past chair) since 1999; he was also the co-chair of their $55M capital campaign and remained an active member of the executive committee. Additionally, Rocky was a director of Beneficial State Bank, a triple bottom line company bank based in Oakland, CA, since its creation in 2007, retiring from there in December 2020. Rocky graduated cum laude with a B.S. in Economics and a B.A. in History from the University of Pennsylvania.
